  • "Not Available" is displayed for mortality incidence rate ratio statistics for residents of Puerto Rico in 2017. The 2017 statistics are not available for residents of Puerto Rico due to the inclusion of only the first half (January to June) of the 2017 Puerto Rico incident cases and populations in the United States Cancer Statistics 1999-2017 data.
  • Puerto Rico's 2017 incidence counts and rates are based on the first six months of reported data (January to June 2017) coupled with half of the population estimate. Incidence data from July to December 2017 are excluded to account for the population shift that occurred due to Hurricane Maria.
  • All states are included in the USCS mortality data for all years 1999-2017. Puerto Rico deaths and populations are included for years 2005-2017 in the USCS mortality data.
